We are taking the lead supporting to innovative and impactful uses of data and technology in the social sector.
The Good Tech Giving Circle seeks to demonstrate how data and technology can create social impact. For too long philanthropy has under-funded social sector technology development. We seek to change that. To demonstrate to philanthropy what is possible. To create a path forward for others to follow. We can’t wait any longer. It’s up to us.
PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT
As we consider launching the Good Tech Giving Circle we are seeking pledges of support. These aren’t formal gifts but will let us know if there is enough interest and support to launch.
HOW IT WILL WORK
We still have a lot to figure out and we want to do that collaboratively as a circle. Our goal is to formalize by the fall of 2019, collect initial funds by January 2020, and make our first grants in May 2020 at Good Tech Fest.
Our minimum contribution will be $1,000 and we will offer several tiers of giving. The more you give, the more sway you will have over the grants, but it will not be linear as we want to make sure all donors are represented in decision-making.
What is a Giving Circle?
A giving circle is a group of people that come together and pool their philanthropic giving and decide collectively on how and to whom to give their money to. It’s as simple as that.
At the Good Tech Giving Circle we are looking for individuals and institutions interested in collaboratively identifying and funding innovative and impactful data and technology projects. We anticipate launching our giving circle in the Fall of 2019.
